Time to stop and give a BIG thank you, on my road to London!

Thursday started out like any other day for me: wake-up, grab my phone and check my e-mail. Usually my e-mail is filled with junk mail but not this day. A huge smile and a few tears flooded my face when I read that I was the recipient of the John W. James Endowment Grant through the USA Track and Field Foundation, AGAIN!

A quick little background on the endowment fund:

Mark and Lori James & Frias Holding Company made the initial gift of $200,000 to the USATF Foundation in July of 2010 to seed the endowment, which is used to fund elite grants for men and women track athletes in the throwing events, and to promote and highlight the throwing events at major competitions.

I had the opportunity to met Mark last year after USATF Nationals. After shaking his hand I could tell how much passion and love he has for the throwing events. It was great to chat with him about our sport and what needs to be done to get more exposure to our sport and throwing events.

I cannot say Thank You enough to the USATF Foundation and Mark and Lori James. Their generosity and love for my sport is humbling. If I could give you all a hug I would:)

Hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday!

Happy training,

Britney
